Dean has 35 years’ experience in mineral processing research, operations, reviewing, management and consulting.  His expertise covers most aspects of mineral processing technology. Dean has held the role of Technical Director – Process for the past 10 years with the same company over a number of name changes – AMEC, MinProc, AMEC Foster Wheeler and now Wood.

Dean’s expertise includes comminution, classification, geometallurgy, scrubbing, laterite beneficiation, mine to mill optimisation, dense media separation, flotation, plant modelling, process review, ore characterisation interpretation, sampling, plant surveys, testing program design and management of technical teams.

Dean has worked with clients operating in about 50 countries across a broad spectrum of mineral products including gold, copper, iron ore, nickel, uranium, mineral sands, diamonds, lead, zinc, silver, platinum, manganese and graphite.

Prior to his consulting roles, Dean worked in operations for fourteen years with CRA (now Rio Tinto) in base metals, mineral sands and diamonds and for eight years as part of the JKTech team (University of Queensland).
